I was stuck in that mess many years ago. I use to work in Crystal City and left for home. I left the office at 5:00. Didn't step foot in my house in Annapolis until 10:30. I was pissed...so where others calling into WTOP. Many where shouting for him to jump and get it over with. I think in that case they used non-lethal bean bags. Ahhhh...the memories! LOL! But I too question the use of lethal force. What's the worst that could happen with multiple cops and one guy with a chair? I think we need more use of the tasers and see where that goes. I was pumping gas at the Macey's Corner Exxon in SP when I saw four cop cars...SCREAMING down Richie Hwy south toward Arnold...at around 8:30 pm. It was impressive! These guys had to be going over 90mph. The engines on these things where roaring. If people weren't a**hats when it comes to cops...they wouldn't have to use force. My only "hmmm" moment is why don't they use tasers? The guy was threatening the cops with a chair. A jolt of 50,000 volts will take care of that threat pretty quick. Wow.
