And by the way, “Burn em and urn em” and the reference to the “dead kid” and “process out” is an extremely insensitive way to refer to Christopher and his funeral. Do you really think so little of the dead and people’s value that you can be so blaze about it? Do you have children and if so how would you feel if others refered to them so coldly? And unless you know the mother, you are really in no position to judge her ability to raise teenagers and her emotional stability. I cannot believe how low people will stoop when things are anonymous online. But again, where is your soul?

If one does not have money for a funeral , it is one’s duty to do it on the cheap. Burn ‘em and urn ‘em. This mother obviously failed as a parent and the absentee father is required by law to pay half. Women and weak men do not know how to raise teenage boys properly.

Where do your accusations of an “unstable mother” come from? She is divorced and re-married. Blended family for sure, but where is this “unstable” thing coming from?

And I do agree that there needs to be some accountability. But I also question how much these fundraisers have really raised. It takes a lot of water ice to be sold to pay for a funeral.

And I am sorry if you feel that they are bad parents for not being financially prepared to bury their 14 year old son. It is something that is not on anyone’s mind, completely unexpected and very expensive. My mother died three years ago and a cremation alone was several thousand dollars. WHen you figure the cost of services, burial, a casket, etc., a funeral can easily cost up to $20,000. And you can believe that they were not prepared for that expense!

I would ask for an accounting of every cent donated to the dead kid’s fund. If this money is used to enriched the unstable mother, as I suspect it is and will continue to be, the unsuspecting public deserves to know that their money is best given to a more worthy cause that wiill help more people. It is an atrocity to exploit the death of a minor for personal gain. This type of opportunism must be stopped by the IRS immediately.

From what I understand, the money raised is not purely for the family. Yes, some of it is, but musch of it is also to a program to educate others of children and violence and gang awareness and so forth.

I agree this fundraising for dead guy is getting out of hand. Do they need hotel money in order for him to lie in state in the Four Seasons Hotel ? Obviously all of us are responsible for burying our own dead and this dead young person could be “processed out” for a lot less money than is being raised. Any help they need is way too late in coming. I strongly believe that if this supposed ‘mother’ had received the necessary mental help she needed and had her priorities in check her son would be alive today.

Why can’t a funeral home just do a complementary cremation? Why does a death necessitate a damn fund raiser?
