Anne Arundel County To Sell Sponsorships Of Department Events

ambulance-copyIn a press release, the County Department of Aging and Disabilities has advised that they are accepting private sector sponsorships of their events and publications, including press releases.

Is this such a good idea? Are we really in that bad of shape where we need to sell sponsorships like a third rate NASCAR Race?

I can see it now, this police cruiser brought to you by NORML. Ambulance and driver sponsored by the local funeral home. County helicopters searching for criminals pulling a “Julie Will U Marry Me?” banner.

Really, is this a good idea? Maybe (as much as I hate to say it) you could raise the taxes a little.
