A True Community Partner
The Capital offered it’s praise last night to Northrop Grumman for an initiative they undertook in 2007 to provide a computer lab and adult mentors in one of Annapolis’ public housing neighborhoods. We share that praise and hope that other companies will take note and embrace a similar sense of community!
Over the past two years, volunteers from Northrop Grumman have taken their time to mentor at least 20 young boys and girls who were lacking a role model in their lives. The results of their efforts culminated in a business partnership award from the Annapolis and Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce. However, the impact made on these children, and the sense of satisfaction for a job well done is likely much more valuable.
If you are an individual or a company looking for opportunities to help out the local community, a great resource is the Volunteer Center For Anne Arundel County. They are one of the many non-profits in the County who can place you or your company in contact with an organization that needs help! Please give them a call!
