CDC Says School Is Safe

While Folger McKinsey Elementary School was schaeduled to be closed until Thursday, due to a change in policy from the CDC, the school will open again tomorrow.

A statement just released by the school system stated that, “The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention today changed its guidance to reflect that schools with probable or confirmed cases of the H1N1 influenza, or Swine Flu, no longer need to close. As such, Folger McKinsey Elementary School will reopen for all students and staff tomorrow, May 6, 2009.”

According to the guidelines, children and employees at any school showing no symptoms of illness can attend school regardless of recent travel to an area affected by H1N1.
