Anne Arundel Police Seize Marijuana, Cocaine and Cash at Shell Gas Station

On April 2, 2009, detectives from the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Special Enforcement Section concluded a two month investigation into illegal drug activity occurring at the Shell Gas Station located at 601 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park.

The investigation began due to numerous complaints of drug activity occurring from inside of the food mart portion of the Gas Station. The complainants alleged that employees of the gas station would deal large amounts of marijuana to customers coming to the business. Through investigation, detectives were able to identify Arthur Paul Gonsalvez, 53, of Beltsville, Md, and Raymond Failla, 25, of Silver Spring, Md, as being involved with the distribution of drugs.

Upon execution of the search warrant at approximately 5:00pm, detectives detained Mr. Gonsalvez and Mr. Failla at the business. The business was then closed to the public and a search was conducted. Detectives located 30.9 grams of suspected marijuana under the front counter. Detectives located a locked safe in the back office, where 30 bags of suspected marijuana were seized. Additionally, detectives located and seized an additional 29 bags of suspected marijuana, a digital scale, over $13,000.00 of U.S. Currency and over 6 grams of suspected cocaine from the back office.
