Operation NO LET UP Cleans Up!
The purpose of Operation “No Let Up” (Northern Officers, Law Enforcement Tactics, Uplifting People) was to effectively present a law enforcement response within designated communities (Brooklyn Park, Pumphrey and Morris Hill) in Northern District, due to an increased level of citizen complaints regarding criminal activity and issues negatively impacting quality of life. Efforts were directed toward enforcing criminal violations, parking violations, and illegal motor vehicle activity within the specified geographical areas. Additionally, officers assisted citizens with addressing several quality of life concerns they have identified, utilizing available resources to include assistance from other county agencies.
Commencing on April 13th and running through April 17th, detectives and officers from the Northern Districts (TPU) Tactical Patrol Unit, (TNT) Tactical Narcotics Team, (PACT) Police and Community Together, as well as members from the (SET) Special Enforcement Team and Eastern District (TPU), began Operation No Let Up, focusing its efforts on the Brooklyn Park, Pumphrey and Morris Hills communities.
During the weeklong operation, officers made 100 criminal arrests that included CDS violations, alcohol violations, serving arrest warrants, juvenile citations, traffic violations and a prostitution arrest. This total also included the arrest of two individuals (juveniles) who were found operating a stolen vehicle. Both were arrested and the stolen vehicle recovered and returned to its owner with out incident.
Officers also issued 20 State Traffic Citations, 88 Traffic Warnings, 7 Parking Tickets, and seized 31 sets of registration plates found to either be fraudulent or suspended. 68 vehicles were tagged for possible towing due to registration violations and improper parking. Officers also generated 22 warnings of potential zoning complaints that affected quality of life issues in these areas.
During this operation, various types of CDS to include Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, Marijuana, Heroin, as well as several prescription drugs diverted to illegal use were seized. The total street value of all CDS seized was approximately $1,600.00.

Directly targeting quality of life concerns of the community is a key component of the mission of this department,” said Chief of Police, Colonel James Teare, Sr. “The success of the operation is evident in the number of contacts and arrests made. The department will continue to work with community leaders to identify and address issues affecting these and other areas.”
