Alleged Crofton Rapist’s Charges Upgraded To First Degree Rape. Faces Life In Prison.
David Raszewski, the South River High School teen charged with raping a 7 year old girl in his neighborhood got a bit more bad news on Friday last week. While police initially charged Raszewski with second-degree rape, a County Grand Jury, after hearing the evidence, amended the charges to include first-degree rape. According to the indictment, Raszewski molested the girl “in several ways”.
When Raszewski entered the Jennifer Road Detention Center on March 21, 2009, he was looking at a 20 year sentence. Now with a first-degree charge, he is looking at a life sentence. Raszewski still remains in custody with a $2 million bond.
A trial date has not been set.
