Lady Wildcats Disappointed Again

| March 16, 2009 | 0 Comments

wildcat2The Arundel High School Lady Wildcats were once again denied the elusive State Championship losing to Eleanor Roosevelt’s Lady Raiders by four in the State semi-finals.  Despite having three Division I signees and two juniors who are being highly recruited, the team could not prevent the Lady Raiders from capturing an unprecedented five consecutive State titles.  Many critics blame the Lady Wildcats’ coach, Lee Rogers (revered by some in AA County as the “legend”), for the loss.  Questions continue to surround the programs inability to win big games outside of AA County.  Most believe that on paper, the Lady Wildcats have the talent to break into the top rankings of the nation.  Unfortunately, the “legend” and his Lady Wildcats have proven for the last four years that they are only the best in AA County, which many believe is a county whereby girls basketball takes a backseat to Baltimore and Prince George’s counties as well as Washington, D.C.  With three of his starters leaving to play at the next level, the “legend” will have an opportunity to quell the skeptics by returning the Lady Wildcats to the RAC next season and winning the State title.
