Anne Arundel Cops At It Again

Anne Arundel Police DepartmentRapists, carjackers, and now potential murderers.  The Anne Arundel Police are on a roll. This morning, they announced a second arrest in connection with an attempted murder of a 26 year old female in Crofton, MD back in October 2008.

On January 19, 2009, after extensive investigation, homicide unit detectives arrested Jerold Burk and charged him with Attempted First Degree Murder, Attempted Second Degree Murder, First and Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Handgun on a person, and a Handgun used in a felony crime of violence.

Since the arrest, detectives continued to pursue leads in the case and through good detective work and forensic evidence, Charles Brandon Martin, 32, of 5708 Crecy Court, Bryans Road, MD,  was identified as being involved in the attempted murder of the female. The investigation also confirmed that the victim was a specific target of the violence. He was arrested on  March 30, 2009, and charged with  Attempted First Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Attempted First Degree Murder and Use of a Handgun in a Crime of Violence.
