Anne Arundel Cops At It Again
Rapists, carjackers, and now potential murderers. The Anne Arundel Police are on a roll. This morning, they announced a second arrest in connection with an attempted murder of a 26 year old female in Crofton, MD back in October 2008.
On January 19, 2009, after extensive investigation, homicide unit detectives arrested Jerold Burk and charged him with Attempted First Degree Murder, Attempted Second Degree Murder, First and Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Handgun on a person, and a Handgun used in a felony crime of violence.
Since the arrest, detectives continued to pursue leads in the case and through good detective work and forensic evidence, Charles Brandon Martin, 32, of 5708 Crecy Court, Bryans Road, MD, was identified as being involved in the attempted murder of the female. The investigation also confirmed that the victim was a specific target of the violence. He was arrested on March 30, 2009, and charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Attempted First Degree Murder and Use of a Handgun in a Crime of Violence.
Despite the arrests that have been made, the investigation is still active and detectives are asking for anyone that may have any information about this crime to please contact Detective Michael Regan at 410-222-3463.

What is happening in Crofton lived here for 23 years and i personally know the stabbing victims whom the real victim is an outstanding person, and the guilty party never would i have thought could act out a horrid act! now the childs rape has involved people who i have gone to school with, and today the killing of a 13 or 14 yr old? things are out of control,How can this be acceptable behavior? maybe w/o assuming too much the section 8 housing needs to brought out of suburbs and the teens need violence education in school since they get sex education! Seriously a quiet town is now under fire!! Strict police patrol is in the wrong areas! unfortunaltely my generation and younger seem to believe they can act without consiquence and they are destroying lives, familys, and a community! my heart goes to the family of the victim and the family of the guilty teens! Pray for Crofton so our children can be raised in safety and parents can feel safe when they are in school!
